FLORIAN BRANDL TRUMPET

TEACHING

I concentrate on helping the student develop and attain a solid instrumental technique. Above all, the central point should be that playing is fun, and the student is inspired and instructed to play in ensembles with other musicians.

My students benefit from my own experiences as a musician who has worked extensively in all the different styles, from classical to jazz. Depending on the student's interests, we can then concentrate on the specific details of a particular playing style; for example, how to play in a big band, or how do you improvise in a combo.

Since 2005, I have been teaching trumpet in Munich at the accredited private music school Musikforum Blutenburg e.V.. I also give private trumpet music lessons.

In 2007 I was a docent at the Middle European Jazz Workshop in Meran, South Tirol, Italy.

The workshop was under direction of the internationally acclaimed Italian pianist Franco d'Andrea. Since 2009, I have been conducting the big band Big Blu at the Musikforum Blutenburg. The band performs regularly, often playing at the Pasinger Fabrik cultural center, a principal venue in the cultural life of West Munich.

I enjoyed my studies at Munich's Richard Strauss Conservatory (graduation with diploma in 2004) and have continued my studies with Bobby Shew, Prof. Uwe Kleindienst and Prof. Malte Burba.

Having done a Master degree with Prof. Malte Burba (Musikhochschule Dresden 2016 - 2018) i am able to teach students interested in his special method for brass players.

I am proficient in German, English, Hungarian, and Italian
